Kick off Newport’s annual Irish Heritage Month celebration with live traditional Irish music and set dancing. The event commemorates the informal dances held at Forty Steps by the Irish who called Newport their home during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when “Newport was Irish.”

57th Annual Newport St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Starts at Newport City Hall, 43 Broadway, Newport, RI 02840

The parade is scheduled to last two hours and will include seven pipe bands, nine marching bands, four fife and drum corps, three clown units, eight reenactment units, and a host of local, state, and regional organizations including police and fire units, social/fraternal organizations, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Schools, and non-profits.

7th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Family Celebration
