Newport Winter Festival 2012

For a magical Newport getaway, come enjoy the fun and festivities at this year’s Newport Winter Festival.  The Winter Fest runs for 10 days from February 17th to the 26th – with activities and events going on every day, and for every interest…really!

Not sure what to do…, in addition to the Breakers, several of the Newport Mansions, including the Elms and Marble House, will re-open for tours during Winter Festival. There will also be beach polo matches, ice sculpture carving demonstrations, a sand-castle building contest and Polar Bear plunge at 1st Beach (right down the Cliff Walk from the Cliffside Inn), food & drink competitions galore including; a Chili cook-off, a nacho tasting, a chicken-wing cook-off, a “best drink” competition, and all sorts of restaurant specials.

Winter Festival 2012 will also include a city-wide scavenger hunt and several music concerts including singer/songwriter Cheryl Wheeler, Beatlemania, and a concert by the famous Eagles tribute band; ”Another Tequila Sunrise”… and that’s just the start of it.

For a full calendar of events, check out the Newport Winter Festival website.  And if you are thinking about coming to Newport for a winter getaway, check our availability at Cliffsideinn.com; you will have a wonderful time!
